Who this is for
A service category is a starting point, not a diagnosis. The clinician may recommend a different appointment, referral, follow-up or preparation step after review.
Suitable for wrinkles, fine lines, skin dullness, loss of skin volume, pigmentation changes, UV damage and stretch marks.
Microneedling or radiofrequency needling may be discussed for acne scarring and selected skin concerns after active acne and rosacea are assessed.
Microneedling may be discussed as one part of a broader hair-loss treatment plan when clinically suitable.
Treatment journey
Each treatment session follows the same staged sequence so patients understand what to expect at every step.
The skin is cleansed before the procedure. A numbing cream may be recommended to minimise discomfort — you may be asked to apply this at home before attending.
The clinician confirms whether standard microneedling or radiofrequency needling is appropriate and explains the device settings, expected recovery and treatment area.
A needling device creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This supports the skin’s natural repair response and collagen production.
Sessions typically take 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area treated, device choice and treatment plan.
Tell your clinician if you are using blood-thinning medicines, high-strength vitamin A or retinol products, or have had recent microdermabrasion or peels. Some of these affect treatment timing.
Avoid sun exposure in the days before treatment and arrive with clean skin without makeup.
Safety and expectations
Read the limits and aftercare notes before booking so the next step matches your concern and urgency.
Mild redness and swelling are common immediately after the procedure and usually subside within one to two days.
Some patients experience bruising, particularly in sensitive areas of the face.
Changes in skin pigmentation can occur. Risk varies with skin type, treatment settings, sun exposure and aftercare.
Infection is uncommon but possible after a needling procedure. Tell the clinician about known allergies or previous reactions to numbing cream and follow the aftercare instructions.
Protect treated skin from direct sunlight and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with high SPF.
Avoid cleansers for the first 24 hours. After that, cleanse gently and avoid harsh skincare products for several days.
Refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
Keep the skin hydrated with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturiser and follow the product guidance provided after treatment.

Frequently asked questions
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production.
Radiofrequency needling combines controlled needling with radiofrequency energy. Suitability, settings and expected recovery depend on skin type, treatment area and clinical assessment.
Microneedling or radiofrequency needling may be discussed for acne scarring, texture, pigmentation concerns, stretch marks and selected hair-loss plans. Suitability depends on assessment.
Microneedling may cause some discomfort. A numbing cream is usually applied before the procedure to minimise this.
The number of sessions depends on the concern, device choice, skin response and desired outcome. Your clinician will recommend a plan at consultation.
There is usually minimal downtime. Redness and mild swelling typically subside within one to two days. Avoid sun exposure and use gentle skincare during recovery.
Microneedling may be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy or other treatments when clinically suitable. Your clinician will explain whether a combined plan is appropriate.
Microneedling and radiofrequency needling session fees are confirmed during consultation, after the clinician reviews suitability and the recommended treatment plan. See the fees page for the current consultation and deposit amounts published from the booking platform. Prescription numbing formulations, when recommended, are purchased separately from a compounding pharmacy.
