Skin quality, laser and device consultations

Device and laser discussions focus on suitability, individual differences, treatment expectations, varying recovery times, risks and alternatives rather than guaranteed outcomes or absolute claims.

Start here if

This pathway is for patients considering laser, collagen-stimulating or radiofrequency-based skin work and wanting a clinician-led discussion before deciding if treatment is appropriate.

Who this is for

Is skin quality, laser and device consultations the right starting point?

A service category is a starting point, not a diagnosis. The clinician may recommend a different appointment, referral, follow-up or preparation step after review.

Skin quality and laser concerns

Pigmentation, redness, vascular concerns, rosacea, texture, laxity, collagen change, fine lines, and photoaging can be reviewed.

Device suitability

Treatment suitability depends on skin type, pigment risk, scarring risk, medicines, medical history, timing and expectations.

Alternatives and staged plans

The clinician may discuss preparation, alternatives, staged treatment, no treatment or referral depending on assessment.

Treatment journey

Procedure steps

Each treatment session follows the same staged sequence so patients understand what to expect at every step.

Procedure steps

Duration: 15 to 60 minutes per session

Step 1. Trifractional — epidermis resurfacing

The Trifractional mode uses radiofrequency energy delivered to the surface of the skin to create controlled ablation and resurfacing. It targets texture, enlarged pores, superficial pigment and fine lines on the outermost skin layer.

Step 2. Voluderm — dermis volumising

Voluderm delivers fractional radiofrequency precisely into the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin production from within, addressing skin laxity, volume loss and deeper lines without affecting the skin surface.

Step 3. Tripollar radiofrequency — collagen and elastin stimulation

Tripollar radiofrequency heats the deeper dermal layer to promote ongoing collagen and elastin production. It is used for skin tightening and improving overall skin quality and tone.

Step 4. DMA — dynamic muscle activation

Dynamic muscle activation works at the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) muscle layer — a level that most radiofrequency devices cannot reach. This mode targets structural facial support, lifting and defining facial contours.

Preparation

Share prior procedures and medicines

Bring details of previous skin treatments, reactions, pigment changes, scarring, medicines, active cosmeceuticals and upcoming events. Some treatments require a pause period before radiofrequency.

Plan around recovery

Mild redness lasting one to two days can occur and usually reflects a normal tissue response. It is not a guarantee of treatment effect, so plan around events, sun exposure and homecare.

Safety and expectations

Risks, limits and aftercare

Read the limits and aftercare notes before booking so the next step matches your concern and urgency.

Risks and limitations

Redness and swelling

Mild redness and swelling are expected inflammatory responses after some radiofrequency and device treatments and usually settle within one to two days. They do not prove treatment effectiveness.

Infection risk

Infection after radiofrequency treatment is rare. Following the post-procedure care instructions reduces this risk further.

Pigment changes in darker skin types

Patients with darker skin tones have a higher risk of temporary hypo- or hyperpigmentation. Suitability assessment considers your Fitzpatrick skin type, and treatment settings are adjusted accordingly.

Aftercare and follow-up

Gentle cleansing only

For the first 24 hours avoid makeup and harsh skincare products. Cleanse gently and use a mild moisturiser.

Sun protection

Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with high SPF for at least two weeks after treatment. Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure during this time.

Three-day follow-up

A brief follow-up at three days after treatment allows the clinician to assess the skin response and address any concerns.

Booking and fees

Choose a safe next step

Book directly when the pathway is clear, or use the booking page if appointment type, timing or provider fit is uncertain.

Booking pathway

Book a device consultation

Book consultation-first. Treatment suitability, expected costs and recovery expectations are discussed after assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

What makes the Divine Pro different from other radiofrequency devices?

The Divine Pro is one of the few radiofrequency devices that works simultaneously on the epidermis, dermis and SMAS muscle layer. Most radiofrequency devices only reach the dermis.

Can I book treatment without a consultation?

New patients should expect consultation-first care. Suitability, settings, risks and realistic expectations all depend on individual assessment.

Is radiofrequency suitable for darker skin tones?

Radiofrequency can be used on darker skin types, but settings must be carefully adjusted to reduce the risk of pigment changes. Suitability is assessed at consultation.

How long does a session take?

A typical treatment session takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on the modes used. Including preparation, allow 45 to 60 minutes.

Is there downtime?

Mild redness lasting one to two days can occur after treatment. It is an expected inflammatory response, not proof of treatment effect, and most patients return to normal activities within a day or two.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions depends on individual concern, skin condition and goals. Your clinician will recommend a plan at consultation.

Are results guaranteed?

No outcome can be guaranteed. Individual response varies and results are discussed honestly at consultation.

What is the Pyramid facial?

The Pyramid facial combines all four Divine Pro modes — Trifractional, Voluderm, Tripollar radiofrequency and DMA — in one treatment session for a comprehensive approach addressing multiple skin layers simultaneously.

How much does radiofrequency treatment cost?

Radiofrequency treatment options, mode combinations and any add-ons are discussed during consultation. See the fees page for the current consultation and deposit amounts published from the booking platform.
